doctor who meets the BBC's remit to entertain as  it is a tv show which was put on for all family members to enjoy and it is also entertaining as there is themes of space and aliens which was hugely talked about at the time due to the space race . It is also educational as they talk about science and history and it is also set in a school and the idea of education is also presented through the character of Susan. 

His dark materials meets the BBC's remit to entertain as it includes parallel universes and also because it has shape shifting and speaking animals it is also clear that it has created to entertain as there is a main villain and hero's and also witches . their is also a plot that continues over a period of multiple episodes and series . It also meets the BBC's remit to educate as there is themes of science
